The Weekends Here!

It’s not the start of just another regular weekend today! It’s the Spring Break weekend for the children. But I still have to get to work today! The youngest in the family decides to be up and about, bright and early today of all the days, especially when you want to desperately lie in bed. She wins and we kick the sheets and jump out of bed, literally.

After the mandatory honey water and freshly churned cup of coffee, I feed the younger one and feed the dog who has been patiently waiting for me to finish my morning ritual. Then I head to the kitchen! It’s Saturday so the household is vegetarian today since the man of the house is Vegetarian on Saturdays! Thanks to prior planning these days the healthy menu is already decided. Breakfast – Moongdaal Chilla and Coconut Chutney with Pancakes and Honey. And for Lunch – Dahi Kadhi, Sticky Rice, Aachari Aloo and Besan ka Roti. I promise to put up the tried and tested healthy recipes on the blog. With the efficient staff I have been blessed with recently, cooking has become therapeutic for me. I highly recommend it for all moms. A big plus is seeing my children eat better! After all it’s ‘Ma Ke Haath Ka Khana’

While the older one will be lost at her Ballet Class for a good three hours, the younger one has to be entertained while I rush off to work. Today the cousins are coming over so we are sorted. For days when she has to be home with the trusted didi’s, we made a ‘Boredom Buster Jar’. Then all we have to do is just pick out an activity from the jar and get on our way! I have posted the list for you below for you to try at home. Do try them with your children this spring break! Feel free to add or change the ones we have but they work very well for my 5 and 10 year old!

Happy Holidays and keep experimenting!
